Small fragrant white to green flowers bloom in spring creating a small reddish orange very sweet edible fruit. Fruit is best once ripened on the tree. This is also a decorative tree with dark glossy green leaves and dark grey bark. Considered dioecious it is best to have male and female trees for fruit production. This is a hardy tree that will tolerate drought, shallow rocky soil, air pollution and black walnut.
